Call for Posters!!!

For the 2020 WAI Conference, the WAI would like to welcome poster presentations by local students. The student posters will be judged by a panel of various experts in the field of crime scene investigation and crime laboratory analysis. One top prize will be awarded.

Students interested in presenting posters at the Conference must submit their proposal to Julie Avila at on line before January 30, 2020.

Research projects in the forensic fields of crime scene processing and collection, latent print, footwear or tire impression, biometrics, bloodstain pattern, facial identification, and forensic art are welcome. Posters may also demonstrate a process, present an unusual case or include items of historical interest. Other topics may be accepted on a case by case basis. At the presentation, the student will be expected to stand by their poster and answer questions posed by conference attendees and judges.  No formal presentation is required. Note: Audio/video equipment (VCRs, televisions, computers, etc.) and other electrical components will not be provided for the poster presentations.  It is the responsibility of the presenter to insure his/her poster is picked up at the conclusion of the presentation. Eligibility requirements (as a student) to enter a Student Poster is that the submitter is a part time or full time student in the field of criminal justice and/or forensic science.

Display of the poster will be the responsibility of the student, however; we will work with the student to make arrangements ahead of time for the display if necessary (easel, table, etc).

Please submit your proposal to Julie Avila at
