RESOLUTION 2005-1

WHEREAS, the members of the Wisconsin Association for Identification assembled at their 2005 Annual General Membership Meeting in Madison, Wisconsin on April 1, 2005 wish to adopt a change to our By Laws; therefore be it

Resolved, that Section 5.13 will be added to the By Laws as will read as follows:

Section 5.13 Web Site Committee.  This committee shall consist of a chairman and three to five members.  (Including the webmaster if he/she is a member in good standing).  This committee shall be responsible for overseeing the webmaster and the official web site of the W.A.I.  The content of the web site will be a collaboration of the committee and the webmaster.  The chairperson or their designee shall give a report at each Board of Directors meeting.  The committee shall perform other duties as directed by the President.

Resolved, that a copy of this resolution be published in the newsletter and the WAI web site.

Resolution 2015-2

Whereas, the members of the Wisconsin Association for Identification assembled at their 2015 Annual General Membership meeting in Eau Claire, WI on March 13th, 2015 wish to adopt a change to our By-Laws; therefore be it

Resolved that Section 3.09(i) of the By Laws be removed.

Whereas, the members of the Wisconsin Association for Identification assembled at their 2015 Annual General Membership meeting in Eau Claire, WI on March 13th, 2015 wish to adopt a change to our By-Laws; therefore be it

Resolved that Section 8.03(3) of the By Laws be  created to read as follows:

Section 8.03 IAI Annual Educational Seminar reimbursement.
If the Regional Representative is attending the Annual Educational Seminar of the IAI, the Board of Directors may approve and reimburse the attendee for the following expenses:

a. Conference Registration
b. Conference recommended standard accommodations, up to five nights
c. Travel costs not to exceed current US Government Services Administration (GSA) for the Government owned vehicle mileage reimbursement rate. Flight costs will be standard/coach rate.
d. Meal Expenditures and Incidentals (M&IE) for five days reimbursed to an amount not to exceed current GSA rates.

The Regional Representative attending the Annual Educational Seminal shall notify the Board of Directors if the International Association for Identification or his/her employer will be covering any costs for attending the conference. Receipts for expenses shall be submitted within sixty days to the Secretary/Treasurer prior to reimbursement.

Resolution 2019-1        Removal of IAI Certification Committees

Whereas, the members of the Wisconsin Association for Identification assembled at their  Annual General Membership meeting in Green Bay, WI on March 8th, 2019 wish to adopt a change to our bylaws; therefore be it

Resolved, that the following sections of the bylaws be removed:

Section 5.08 Crime Scene Certification

Section 5.09 Latent Print Certification

Section 5.10 Forensic Photography Certification

And be it further resolved, that a copy of this resolution be published in the newsletter and the WAI web site.

Resolution 2019-2          Addition of Certification Advisory Committee

Whereas, the members of the Wisconsin Association for Identification assembled at their Annual General Membership Meeting in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 8th, 2019, wish to adopt a change to our bylaws; therefore be it

Resolved, that Section 5.14 will be added to the bylaws. This bylaw will create a new Certification Advisory committee. It will read as follows:

Section 5.14 Forensic Certification Advisory Committee. 

This committee shall consist of a chairman up to three members.  This committee shall be responsible for assisting and guiding members in the IAI certification process. The Chairperson or their designee shall give a report at each Board of Directors meeting. The Committee shall perform other duties as directed by the President

And be it further resolved, that a copy of this resolution be published in the newsletter and the WAI web site.

Resolution 2019-3            Student Dues

Whereas, the members of the Wisconsin Association for Identification assembled at their Annual General Membership meeting in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 8th, 2019, wish to adopt a change to our bylaws; therefore be it

Resolved, that dues for Student Memberships shall be set at the same rate as Active and Associate Members. Section 2.01 shall read as follows:

Section 2.01 Dues.  The annual dues of the Wisconsin Association for Identification shall be twenty dollars($20.00) per year for Active, Student and Associate members.  The annual dues shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) per year for Affiliate members

Resolution 2019-4         Active Member Rights Defined

Whereas, the members of the Wisconsin Association for Identification assembled at their Annual General Membership meeting in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 8th, 2019, wish to adopt a change to our bylaws; therefore be it

Resolved, that the bylaws of the WAI be amended to clarify the membership and voting rights of Active Members. Section 1.04 shall be amended to read as follows:

Section 1.04 Active Membership.  Active membership shall consist of employees of government law enforcement agencies and other government law enforcement related agencies whose job duties include one or more tasks related to the collection, preservation, processing, analysis, and/or utilization of forensic evidence.  To be considered an employee under this section, the person must be a bonafide employee who receives a salary from a national government, tribal government, state government, county government, or some subdivision thereof.  Active Members, in good standing, may hold any office in the WAI. Active Members, in good standing, shall be entitled to one (1) vote with respect to each matter presented to the membership of the WAI for a vote. Further, any active member in good standing shall not lose his or her active membership status because of retirement or other change in job status.

Resolution 2019-5        Student Member Rights Defined

Whereas, the members of the Wisconsin Association for Identification assembled at their Annual General Membership meeting in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 8th, 2019, wish to adopt a change to our bylaws; therefore be it

Resolved, that the bylaws of the WAI be amended to clarify the membership and voting rights of Student members. Section 1.09 shall be amended to read as follows:

                 Section 1.09 Student Memberships.  Student Membership shall consist of all persons who are full-time college students at an accredited university or college with a major in law enforcement, criminal justice and/or a forensic science related field.  To be considered a full-time student, the individual must not be an Active  Member of this association, and must not be employed by a law enforcement agency.  Any individual who is in any type of internship as part of their college course work shall be considered to not be employed by a law enforcement agency for the purposes of this section.  To qualify under these provisions the individual must include with the application for Student Membership and renewal, a letter, on college letterhead, from a professor or instructor verifying that the individual is qualified for student membership. Student Members shall not be eligible to vote or hold office.

Resolution 2019-6                Affiliate Member Rights Defined

Whereas, the members of the Wisconsin Association for Identification assembled at their Annual General Membership meeting in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 8th, 2019, wish to adopt a change to our bylaws; therefore be it

 Resolved that that the bylaws of the WAI be amended to clarify the membership and voting rights of Affiliate Members. Section 1.07 shall be amended to read as follows:

                 Section 1.07 Affiliate Memberships.  Affiliate Members shall consist of business organizations that are interested in furthering the objectives of this Association. Affiliate Members shall not be eligible to vote or hold office.
